Hello,
I would like to form a group for Moms/Parents. A place to share parenting advice , tips , problems as well as general around the house stuff. Let`s share recipes , photos , cleaning tips , advice , money saving tips , laundry tips/advice. couponing ..... Anything that has to with parenting and home/family life ...lets post it here and form a wonderful support group. Recipes: Hashbrown Casserole: Preheat over to 350 degrees, 2lb. Bag frozen Shredded hasbrowns, 1-can cream of chicken soup, 1-stick (melted butter), 1-8oz. sour cream , 8oz. velvetta cheese, 3 tsp. finely chopped onion. Thaw hashbrowns.Pour butter over potatoes & mix. Stir in remaining ingredients, mix well. Spread mixture into a 9X13 inch glass casserole dish & bake for 30 minutes or until bubble. (Like O`Charley`s Caramel pie) Easy Caramel Pie: 1- can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk, 1- graham cracker crust, 1-small container whip cream (cool whip), Boil unopened can of Eagle Brand milk in a large pot ( deep enough to keep the can covered with water while boiling) for 3 hours. Keep can covered with water so check it often and add water to post as needed. After 3 hours remove can and set aside and let it cool for at least an hour. Open can and stir the caramel with a butter knive inside of can and then pour it into the pie crust and top with cool whip.I also like to shave some chocolate from a hersheys bar on the top for garnish , also could garnish with cherries / nuts or coconut. Keep refrigerated. Fish Batter ( puffs up like Capt.d`s): 1-cup beer, 1 tsp. salt, 1-egg, 1-cup pancake mix, mix together all ingred. and dip fish into batter before deep frying. Household hints: To determine whether an egg is fresh, immerse it in a pan of cool, salted water. If it sinks, it is fresh~if it rises to the surface, throw it away. Keep the linings from cereal boxes~they make great substitutes for waxed paper! To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes! Use a meat baster to "squeeze" your pancake batter onto the hot griddle~ perfect shaped pancakes every time! Use lifesavers candy to hold candles in place on your next birthday cake! Kids love 'em! Poke an egg with a small sewing needle before hard-boiling, and the egg will peel with ease! And hold that needle in place with a magnet refrigerator clip! Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips! Zap garlic cloves in the microwave for 15 seconds and the skins slip right off! To prevent egg shells from cracking, add a pinch of salt to the water before hard-boiling! Use a pastry blender to cut ground beef into small pieces after browning! Sweeten whipped cream with confectioners' sugar instead of granulated sugar~it will stay fluffy and hold it's shape better! For easy "meatloaf mixing", combine the ingredients with a potato masher! If you don't have enough batter to fill all cupcake tins, pour 1 tablespoon of water into the unfilled spots...this helps preserve the life of your pans! To easily remove honey from a measuring spoon, first coat the spoon with nonstick cooking spray! Run your hands under cold water before pressing Rice Krispies treats in the pan~the marshmallow won't stick to your fingers! Mash and freeze ripe bananas, in one-cup portions, for use in later baking~no wasted bananas (or you can freeze them whole, peeled, in plastic baggies) To quickly use that frozen juice concentrate, simply mash it with a potato masher~no need to wait for it to thaw! To get the most juice out of fresh lemons, bring them to room temperature and roll them under your palm against the kitchen counter before squeezing! Spray your tupperware with non-stick cooking spray before pouring in tomato-based sauces~no more stains! Save your store-bought-bread bags and ties~they make perfect storage bags for homemade bread! Getting Whites Clean and other uses for Cascade For cotton and cotton blends only---1/4 cup cascade powder, 1 cup bleach, mix with one gallon very hot water and soak the cottons and blends---they will be snowy white and odor free. But wait, flush your commode and pour this used solution into it and let stand---stainfree and clean with no scrubbing! I also found that Cascade powder will remove those adhesive remains of the glue on things in bathtubs----wet your tub, cover thickly with Cascade, let set 30 minutes or so, then use a scrub brush and rinse. It may take more than one application, but they will disappear and the tub will be sparkling clean. Wax Crayon on Painted Walls With a child who loves to color I've found this to be very useful. Use WD40(spray lubricant) to remove wax crayon from painted walls. Just spray it on and wipe it off. Dish soap easily removes all traces of the lubricant from the wall. Heavily colored areas should be done a few times or sprayed and left for a time." Cleaning Vases Do you have a white film on the inside of your vases? Fill the vase with vinegar and let set for a couple of hours Lemon Juice will remove adhesive tape and gum from hands and clothes. Group Stats
